Blog on amphibians and reptiles

Amphibians are amazing. Some amphibians originated millions of years ago. Archaelogists have evidences about frogs and different lizards living 265 million years ago. Amphibians are found all around the world. When the meteorites crashed the earth's surface, maybe the amphibians at that time knew how to protect themselves from natural calamities. Well, this are predictions scientists made.

A salamander is an amazing amphibian. The structure of it is similar to a lizard's structure but a Salamander is longer and larger than a lizard. A Salamander can also be poisonous. It secretes toxic from its skin. A juvenile secretes more toxic than an adult. Salamanders originated in the 17th century. Salamanders come from the american continents and from the temperate zones of northern Africa, Asia and Europe.

The next amphibian is a frog. Well, it is a common amphibian and can also been seen in cities. It's origin is dated around 265 million years ago. This is only the prediction of scientists. They predicted this as they found a fossil of an animal similar to the frog

There was a giant amphibian called Labyrinthodontia. It was an ancient amphibian and lived both on land and water. They lived between the Palezoic and Mesozoic eras. They are ancestral to all landliving vertebrates

Reptiles are air breathing vertebrates covered in special skin made up of scales, bony plates or the combination of both. The largest reptile is the saltwater crocodile.

Crocodiles are reptiles which originated in the american continents, Africa, Asia and Australia. They can be very dangerous to humans if they are angry or hungry

Turtles are reptiles which have large shells made of cartilge to protect them from large predators. Turtles can be very large or small and there are both extant and extinct species. A turtle can lay 500 eggs at a time. The largest turtle ever known is the leatherback sea turtle

Chameleons are reptiles that can camouflage themselves to avoid being eaten by other animals. The chameleons look very similar to lizards( just like salamanders).

There are many such amazing amphibians and reptiles which fascinate my imagination.
