Finally the Wall decides to Quit

Finally Rahul "The Wall" Dravid, it is time he quits the ODIs. It probably signals the end of an Era and perhaps the start of pretty difficult times for Indian cricke as there is no replacement for him. The time is not far when the other 2 Stalwarts - Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman also announce their retirement and then it could well be the End of Indian Cricket.

All I can say is Good luck to Indian Cricket from now.

  1. I Agree With you. What I liked today About him was that he took this assignment to be with the team in the time of need. And is going to quit only after the tour.

Its strange that he played such an important role for the team be it in the 2003 world cup when he gave the team stability by agreeing to keep wickets. He was not even given a proper position in the batting line up during the whole tournament. Time and Again he helped the team. Its really unfortunate that during his Captaincy he was never supported by the senior team mates which resulted in the dismal performance in 2007 world cup.
Still I feel that he will play a great role for this team even after his retirement. Because he was a great team player. He along with Anil Kumble and Jawagal Srinath(probably the most non corrupt team mates)will play an important role in the development of a good board which will make a great team in the future. Wish him All the luck for his future assignments.

    Signing Off
    Sudhir.
